Projects

Measures the consortium has already implemented:

• Reserving a certain number of places for F³G members in various day care facilities (nurseries, kindergartens and after-school clubs)
• Expanding childcare and conference services for F³G members
• Financial support for specific F³G projects during FAU’s holiday childcare (Lego Mindstorms, 3D printing project etc.) and providing the relevant staff
• Expanding holiday childcare to Nuremberg as an F³G pilot project
• Providing mobile family workspaces at a number of F³G locations at FAU
• Children’s play area in the student restaurant at Erlangen Campus (South)
• Improving the educational concept behind the infrastructure in the day care facilities belonging to FAU
• Supporting Girls’ Day and the Girls and Technology internship

Services available to staff in F³G consortia:

• Individual coaching for young female researchers
• Lectures and seminars on topics such as career support for women or gender awareness
• Training courses for managers
• Financing research assistants to make it easier to balance research and family commitments
• Covering costs for holiday childcare
• Helping with emergency care to make it easier to balance research and family commitments
• Childcare available to staff taking part in conferences and symposia
• Option of working from home for staff who have to care for children or other relatives
