Conflict management at FAU aims to nurture a positive atmosphere at work for all FAU staff by encouraging a communication culture where others are appreciated and valued. Preventative measures are offered such as training courses, encouraging a culture of giving and receiving feedback, clearly setting out roles, responsibilities and expectations and ensuring personal rights are observed at all times. The conflict management working group consists of representatives of various offices, coordinated by the Conflict Management team.
The Conflict Management team is your point of contact if any conflicts arise at work that you are not capable of solving yourself. They also coordinate the various offices or points of contact involved if a conflict should arise, including the Family Service. Other tasks under their remit include: updating concepts for conflict management, providing independent and neutral advice on dealing with conflict situations, taking a confidential and neutral stance when dealing with cases, offering coaching and mediation services, arranging external mediators and coaches, and planning and implementing preventative measures.
