Daycare places for students’ children
Nurseries (Kinderkrippen) offer regular childcare for children who are still too young for kindergarten. The Studierendenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg runs three nurseries (KraKadU I and II Erlangen and KiKriKi in Nürnberg) and support the students’ parents’ initiative Villa Kunterbunt e.V. in Nürnberg.
Places are also available for students’ children at the Champini Sport-Kita St. Paul in Nuremberg.
Age-Group: 6 months to 3 years (depends on the nursery, not all nurseries take children under one year of age)
Childcare options: Most nurseries offer a choice of part-time or full-time childcare.
Prerequisite: At least one of the parents must be enrolled at a Bavarian university.
Costs:
- Determined individually by the various childcare facilities.
- If necessary, the youth welfare office (Jugendamt) may cover the cost of childcare.
Allocation of places: On a first come, first served basis and waiting lists, in Nürnberg: generally via the childcare portal (please first contact the daycare facility directly to check their registration process).
